Talking to the Youth

We had some high school students come to the local office last week to talk about what we do at my job and how valuable a career in STEM is.

It's always cool seeing kids' eyes light up when they see people who look like them take the time to share knowledge and connect with them. These moments are important because they can truly have a positive impact on their lives. In order to have inclusion and diversity, you must first have opportunity.

My main message to the students that came in for this visit, was to be confident in yourself and to use college for networking just as much as for getting an education. Its arguably more important than that degree honestly, but that's for another debate.

The tour of the Broadcast Studio was easily the highlight of the day for many of them.
